Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord: Praised be Jesus Christ! As many of you may or may not know, I am Nicholas Droll, the son of Jerry and Becky Droll and I am a seminarian of the Diocese of Columbus. I study theology at Mount Saint Mary's University and Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland where I will be entering my second of four years. I graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 2000 and I went on to studies at the Ohio State University at Marion, and the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus. I graduated from OSU with a degree in philosophy in 2008. Although my home parish is Saint Michael the Archangel in Worthington where I made my home before seminary, Transfiguration of the Lord Parish and Saint Peter's School will always be a special place for me since it is where I attended elementary school and where I received the sacraments. It was in your parish where the seed of my vocation was planted and where I first heard the saving truths of our Holy Catholic Faith. For this, I will be eternally thankful, and I mean that literally! I look forward to the day when I might return to Transfiguration of the Lord Parish and minister the mysteries of the Lord Jesus to you, in His very person. Please pray for me and be assured of my prayers for you, especially before the face of the Lord in the Most Holy Eucharist and upon the intercession of the Queen of Heaven and Earth, the Blessed Virgin Mary. In particular, let us pray for an increase of young men who are willing to boldly follow the call of God into the Sacred Priesthood of Jesus Christ, even from your own parish. The harvest is plentiful, let us beg the Lord to send faithful laborers into His vineyard! With sincere best wishes, I have the honor to be, Your Son in the Risen Jesus, Nicholas Droll, Seminarian The Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus Mt. I really miss you and all the good folks from Wyandot County. Things here are moving right along. The first year always involves so much extra time getting to know the people and learning the patterns of parish life. All Saints is a larger parish than Transfiguration, so we have many more funerals and weddings. Also, we have nine hospitals in Toledo which means more time going from hospital to hospital than I experienced in Upper. There are brand new things to experience as well. For example, twice a year we have a Chicken Paprika's dinner--which comes from Eastern Europe. We also had a "Senior Prom" the other week. It was the youth group who organized a prom for our senior citizens. We ALL had a great time. With regard to my contact information: My address is: All Saints Parish 628 Lime City Road Rossford, OH 43460 Phone: 419.666.1393 My email address is still the same, kkaufman@parishmail.com It's always great to see folks. Know that I keep you all in prayer and wish that I had more free time to visit. Blessings! Fr. Kent |
